Hello, and welcome to the home of Witness Tornillo: Target Homestead. This site is meant to serve as a source of updates for the Witness movement at the Homestead Migrant Youth Detention Center in Homestead, Florida. The Homestead Detention Center currently houses over 2,000 refugee children who have fled their home countries to seek asylum here in the United States. We will be posting updates from Witnesses on the ground as well as news regarding the site itself. Our goal is to shed light on that which the current administration hopes to bury: the large-scale separation of families and the blatant violation of the Flores Settlement in detention centers across the country.
